“From being a non-artistic kid to becoming a proud fashion student”. Having said that, taking up fashion designing as my career was the thing I never even thought of because to be very honest I was the worst kid in arts & drawing. Being not so good at drawing skills on the other hand I used to love doing DIY’s from a very young age I always used to DIY my barbie doll’s clothes/ accessories and then later started doing on my own clothes by taking references from youtube. I still remember when I was in class 11th I tore my pair of jeans from the knees and below, folded nicely on the edges with fabric glue and made a pair of shorts and then painted on one side of the shorts and alternate back pocket of it. And It turned out so good I used to wear it all the time and once I wear it on the normal day out with my mom and then her friend called me and asked me “where do you get these shorts from?“ This was the time when there was no turning back And I finally realised that fashion is the stream, I would go for and get deeper professional knowledge of; so that I can create my own fashion pieces and this time not just with fabric glue but properly executed with the needful skills required. My parents were so supportive of my choice of career that they didn’t even hesitate to let me do what really has my interest. And then we finally came across “ JD Institute of Fashion Technology “ with all good placements records, reviews and after meeting in person it was decided that this is the place where I would mould my imagination into a career.

The faculty here are so supportive and encouraging as being a non-confident and an average student in arts I always had this fear of not excelling in my own passion as illustration is core in fashion designing. But that became history when, after just 1 year the faculty, the environment here made fashion illustration one of my favourite subjects and made me meet a new version of myself. Thus, JD helped me evolve and meet my inner creative and fashion enthusiastic person which even I never came across. And now being a final year student I recently started my own Instagram handle where I put all of my journey which JD helped me mould in a bespoke manner. At last, It’s all about your dreams.
