Fashion industry is growing rapidly in different spaces of society. The market continuously changes their requirements and regulations. It always ends up on the shoulders of counterparts in the fashion industry to understand these requirements and be updated with their surroundings. As one of the leading institutes in the field, JD Institute took the liberty to acquaint its students with the scenario of fashion in the retail and design sector.

On June 15th, 2021 we held an online session on ‘Overview the current scenario of the fashion and retail sector in India’. With Ms. Parika Rawal and Mr. Akhil Jain as guest panelists, the session saw participation from all our Interior and Fashion Design batches across all campuses, along with our alumni.

Ms.Rawal is the design head of Women’s fashion Brand, Madame. A well known face around the industry, she is an all-rounder for setting a prodigious design principle at Madame, and has showcased her skills across various global platforms. After joining Madame in 2009, she has been a catalyst in end-to-end product sourcing, research, and development for company accessories globally. Apart from this, she has been an active participant in fashion forecasting, global fairs, and trade shows every year at Premier vision Paris, Tex world Paris, inter textile shanghai, Canton fair Guangzhou, Global sourcing exhibition, HK. An expert in styling, organizing campaigns, and shoots, she manages overall operations for the brand.

Whereas, Mr.Jain, Executive Director at Madame, is a spirited fashion aficionado and an avid traveler. He represents the 4th generation of one of the most respected family run business houses. A qualified fashion designer, Mr. Akhil Jain combines over 8 years of designing, marketing and business development experience. As the company’s Creative Director- he is responsible for deploying the company’s strategic vision and building the brand name, hence being the brain behind branding and positioning of Madame both nationally and internationally.

With the presence of experienced and talented panelists the event was a huge success, as all the students took valuable notes on various informative points made by them.
